About

Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future

The Historic Majestic Theatre has been a cultural landmark in East St. Louis since 1928. Originally built as a grand Spanish Revival-style movie palace, it hosted vaudeville shows, films, and community events, becoming a hub for local entertainment.

Now, under the leadership of Dr. Monica R. Butler, the theatre is undergoing a revitalization project aimed at restoring its historical beauty while adapting it for modern use. Our mission is to preserve the past while creating a vibrant space for live performances, production classes, community events, and venue rentals.

We are committed to bringing people together through the arts and ensuring the Majestic Theatre remains a symbol of culture and community for generations to come.
